Character: Mai Mishou
Fandom: Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star

History: http://prettycure.wikia.com/wiki/Mishou_Mai

Personality: Mai is a multi-faceted character of inexhaustible courage and love for her friends. She is a accomplished artist as well as a girl of action, who will never give up in times of trouble. As such, her character can be broken down into several different parts.

Mai is foremost a friend. Having been the new girl returning to her hometown after five years, she fell into a group of very active characters, supporting and otherwise main characters. She values her friends, and trusts them implicitly to rely on when things get tough. Her main friend is Saki Hyuuga, her co-main character and Co-Pretty Cure. She admits whole heartedly that when she feels down and out, she can just take Saki's hand and it feels like strength is flowing into her from their incredible bond.

She also extends this incredible trust to two other important people in her life beyond her family; Michiru and Kaoru. They were good trusted friends during their time with them in their hometown, and when they fought one another being that the sisters were from Dark Fall, she had hopes that they would see one another once again. She trusts them with her entire being, and they have become family as well as trusted friends.

Her relationship with her brother, Kazuya, and her father and mother is one of absolutes. She feels that they will always be there for her and help her when she's down. She loves her brother very much, and relies on his advice and wisdom when things seem hopeless. As such, Mai can be seen as a very dependant character upon the actions of other people, but is strong enough to make her own decisions about what she likes.

Mai hates to think poorly of others, and even if things confuse her, she also has a sense of humor and sparkling wit that is tempered by an even hand to all things. She is a dedicated artist but has a tendency to struggle under pressure when dealing with artist block. She will redo her drawings over and over when she is under stress or a deadline, but at the same time has an easier time working on art when she is able to be carefree and honest with her emotions through her drawing.

Some major flaws though deal with her tendency to shut out everything around her when she's working on art. It usually takes a direct question about her drawings in order to actually get her to answer them, and even so, Mai tends to jump in surprise when she's startled. It is not to say she is protective of her artwork, refusing to let people see it, but she is directly involved with creating beautiful freehand sketches that she forgets the world around her other than the things she's focused on.

She forgets at times to even sleep or eat when she's focused on her artwork, and will work herself to exhaustion until she manages to finish. But she will never speak bad of any other artwork, or drawings or anything because she encourages everyone's hobbies and goals. Mai tends to agree with things, going with the flow as well. She likes to follow people, and observe carefully instead of rushing headlong into things like Saki does. If anything she can be almost too calm about strange things. But when fired up, she displays a strong temper and the need to beat someone's face in when they enrage Mai, something usually brought out when she's paired with Saki.

Mai can be admittedly clueless about people's intentions, being that she is a touch sheltered as well. She is enthusiastic when people tend to get excited about things, but being that she goes with the flow, she is very much a non-my pace kind of person. Her actions are usually dictated by the direction of the people around her, and those who she values the most.

Other: Mai is part of a tandem transformation duo for the second team of Pretty Cure in 2006-7. She is part of the Pretty Cure Franchise and will be often found near Saki in between bouts of being on her own for various projects and/or personal time. She also has a power set that shifts between Cure Egret and Windy and has two distinct powers sets that can be swapped between in the latter half of her canon.

Mai possesses a ability to transfer between worlds, and currently it shifts her and Saki and their fairies between the Land of Greenery (Earth) to the Land of Fountains in the form of the Fairy Carafe. Also, depending on the fairies power that they encounter, they can also travel to Dark Fall and the Land of Clocks where the Infinite Clock controls time.

Third Person: The faint sound of a pencil on paper could be heard that evening as Mai worked at her desk, for once not doing a drawing. The constant battles had worn on her and she had caught a cold during the events of the spring-time fighting. One of her fights had soaked her to the bone and she sneezed delicately before reaching for a tissue.

*SNIFF* "Urgh, I hope Kazuya comes back with that cold medicine..."

She sounded stuffed up, like her head was full of thick fuzz as she worked on her homework, her pencil scribbling across the paper. Staying home put a damper on seeing Saki and her friends, but the honorable Kintolesky had outright refused to fight them in her state for whatever reason he had.

What was it about that warrior that actually made her smile? Maybe it was the fact that he cared about them on some level, kind of like how Michiru and Kaoru cared about them on their levels. So much in fact that they refused to destroy the Land of Greenery.

With a groan, she rest her head on the desk as she picked up her coffee mug and warmed numb fingers on it. "Maybe I'm reading into this a little too much..." mused Mai as she sniffed loudly and took a pull of the steaming liquid. "Still, he does love exercise and playing fair..."

A knock at the door brought Mai to awareness as she looked up and called out. At least now the medicine would help bring her back to full awareness. Even if she wasn't back to full health, she would definitely feel better in the end.
